| Tungsten Carbide rings are made from one of the hardest and densest metals known. Tungsten is used in high performance cutting tools and light bulb filaments because it melts at an incredible 6000 degrees, the highest melting point of any metal. It can withstand years of wear without scratching. It is so hard that it needs to be made by a very special process using very specialized equipment. It involves starting with a fine metal powder and heating and compressing it at extreme temperatures and pressures until it becomes a solid metal. It is then ground with diamond tools in a highly accurate computer controlled machine. We have partnered with a world leader in that technology. Sizes and widths are limited to the choices shown. These rings are so hard that they won't even take engraving! |
